IDA and Openness

Openness is the prime focus when defining IDA standards. This idea is based on the procedures in the areas Internet and Open Source Software. Openness for IDA means that:

• IDA is not the property of any individual manufacturer
• All specifications are published on the Internet for use
• A source code for simple implementation into one‘s own devices is provided

Thus, any manufacturer will be able to make his or her devices and solutions IDA compatible, ready to be used in an open and distributed automation system.
