Vertical integration - connection of the production department to the corporate IT network and to the internet
Efficient management processes are calling for transparent access to data from the manufacturing level. For the purpose of achieving
this vertical integration, the IDA concept connects the field level to all other levels of the company and to the Internet,
via Ethernet. The advantages for the user are:
- Transparency
Each intelligent device has its own homepage. Thus, supervision, alarm handling,
requesting production data, as well as operating the entire plant is possible
from any terminal via standard Web-browser.
- Remote Access
The standard Web-browser ensures access to all devices, programs and parameters
of a production plant. Any information can be downloaded with the help of standard
Internet protocol FTP
- Integrated Environment
Any application, as well as any task, has got direct access to the corporate data
base, in order to be able to read and write production data. The connection to
ERP and MES systems creates a bridge to the business software.
